Well, the election is now behind us and Donald J. Trump has been reelected to the presidency of the United States of America. I am so thankful to Yehovah (God) that it didn’t go the other way, but I am very concerned that we somehow think that we have elected the savior, the messiah. I do think that Trump is anointed to serve at “such a time as this,” but he is not The Messiah that we should be looking for. Do we think that Trump will “Make America Great Again” and that we will live happily ever after? Maybe there is another way to look at all that is happening.
Consider that almost six thousand years ago God said, “Let there be light,” in Genesis 1:3. Five days later, on the sixth day God created humans, Adam and Chava (Eve). They were placed into the garden and told that they could eat from any tree in the garden except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The tree of life was right there with the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and there was no command against eating of that tree. Once they had chosen to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they were banished from the Garden of Eden and cherubim and a flaming sword were put in place to prevent them from getting to the tree of life. I believe that had they chosen wisely, chosen to eat of the tree of life, that the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would have been removed and the last six thousand years would have been totally different.
Yehovah God, knowing all, was not surprised when they partook of the wrong tree, had already put in place his plan for the next seven thousand years revealed in the seven-day creation story in Genesis 1 & 2. Yehovah reveals in Isaiah 46:10, “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’” In the opening chapters of the Bible, He lays out the template of his seven-thousand-year plan (declaring the end from the beginning). In Psalm 90:4 we learn that a thousand years are like a day and Kefa (Peter) confirms this in 2 Peter 3:8,9, “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” We will dig deeper into this in future posts.
In the creation story, God created for six days and then rested on the seventh. He made the seventh day Holy, set it apart (Genesis 2:2). The easiest day to understand in the template is the seventh day, the Sabbath rest when Messiah (Christ) reigns upon the Earth for those one thousand years (Revelation 20:6). During those one thousand years, we will rest from the influence of Satan as he will be bound and cast into the Abyss.
What about the other six days? Since we chose to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil we will be allowed to exercise that power, knowing and determining for ourselves good and evil, for those six days. How’s that working out for us? Look at history, where has that led? There has been very little time here on Earth where there has been peace. Kingdoms rise against kingdoms. Wars have been the norm, not the exception. Yeshua says in Matthew 15:19, “For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.” This is what we, collectively, have manifest with this power. Sha’ul (Paul) writes about us in Romans 3:10-18, “As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.’ ‘Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.’ ‘The poison of vipers is on their lips.’ ‘Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.’ ‘Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know.’ ‘There is no fear of God before their eyes.’” Romans 3:10-18 are not original thoughts of Sha’ul, this starts with “As it is written.” Written where? In the Tanakh (Old Testament) of course (the New Testament did not exist!). The footnotes in your Bible will lead you to the source of Sha’ul’s quotations. Have we progressed in the two thousand years since Sha’ul wrote this letter? Look around at the division. Read any news site. I dare say not only have we not improved but we have gotten increasingly worse. Isaiah 5:20 tells us we would get it all backwards, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness to light and light to darkness, who replace bitter with sweet and sweet with bitter.”
We have been given six thousand years (six days) to show how we would handle that power. Yeshua in Matthew 24:22 said, “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.” He’s confirming that we, collectively, are so wicked, so evil, that if He doesn’t come back prior to the end of those six days (six thousand years), we will destroy ourselves! Who would know better than Him? The world progressed very slowly prior to the birth of America; very little technological innovation (read The 5000 Year Leap). We also went through the dark ages. America’s birth was in the last half of the sixth day (millennia); meaning we are approaching the end. Yehovah gave America a multitude of blessings, saw us through the War for Independence and led us in the creation of our Constitution. Yehovah did that because we feared God and because he made a promise to Abraham. The Constitution that Yehovah lead the founders to create was the best hope for mankind. It separated powers and provided checks and balances because of the natural proclivities of humans to seek more and more power. It may have started out okay, but we have proven that given all these advantages we are not up to the task of governing ourselves. Hard to hear, isn’t it? I believe that we are dividing ourselves into sheep and goats (Matthew 25). We get to choose if we (individually) will be a sheep or a goat; it doesn’t go so well for the goats!
Many like to quote 2 Chronicles 7:14, “if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.” I love this verse. It gives hope. But notice that it starts with a lower case “i.” Why is that? Because we quote starting in the middle of a sentence; talk about taking something out of context! Why don’t we start at the beginning of the sentence in verse 13 and read it all? “If I close the sky so there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send a plague among My people, and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.” Who is speaking here, who is the “I”? It is Yehovah God of course. Who is withholding rain? Who is bringing locust to devour crops? Who is sending plague? Yehovah God!! These are curses. Why would he do that? I thought God is Love. This points back to Leviticus 26, the chapter on the blessings for obedience and the curses for disobedience. What are the “wicked ways” mentioned here? It is disobedience to Yehovah’s law, His Torah. I can hear many Christians now saying, “But we aren’t under the law.” “We are under the New Covenant.” “The law was nailed to the cross.” I will say, none of that is true. The law was not nailed to the cross, the doctrines and dogmas of men were. The King James says “Ordinances.” See Colossians 2:14. God’s laws are not Ordinances! We are not under the new Covenant. The New Covenant is mentioned in Hebrews 8 and that is quoting Jerimiah 31. Read Jerimiah 31:31-34. Is that the world that you are living in? Does everyone know the LORD (Yehovah)? I think not. Do we all know the law, is it written on our hearts? Hardly anyone knows and keeps the law. Read it again, is that the current reality? We are living under the covenant that Yeshua renewed, the Mount Sinai Covenant (this will be explained in a future post).
Back to Trump. He is a respite. He is not the solution, not the savior. Yeshua is coming back soon because we can’t handle governing ourselves. Our determinations of good and evil are not Yehovah’s. Yeshua is coming back soon to set things right. How soon? I can’t say for sure, but I would be very surprised if we have ten years left. I also have strong reason to believe that 2028 may in fact be the year. A couple of quick reasons why I strongly believe this is that Yeshua spent two days with the gentiles in the story of the woman at the well (John 4). Two days, as we have discussed, means two thousand years and 2028 is exactly 2000 years from the crucifixion and resurrection in 28 (not 33 as you have been told, discussed in a future post). Another very easily dismissed reason is from 1 Corinthians 15:52, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” Trump’s terms have been a little, shall we say, odd. He served from 2017 to 2021 and then was out of office from 2021 to 2025. He should be inaugurated for his second, and last, term on January 20, 2025. The Last Trump! This term runs until January 20, 2029. He will be in office at the Feast of Trumpets 2028, the very possible return of Yeshua. Would God be so bold as to mention Donald Trump’s name in an English translation of the Bible? You decide but He did call Cyrus by name in Isaiah 44:28, over a hundred years before he lived; it’s not without precedent.
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9). This is the point. Yehovah is not slow but he does have a limit and a plan, a timeline. He does not want anyone to perish but that is up to each and every one of us. How do we do that? Repentance, Teshuvah in Hebrew. Trump as president is Yehovah giving us time to repent. Unfortunately, things may get better, for a while, under Trump, how can they not! But, that means we get comfortable, we are fed, we are housed, we are clothed, we can take a vacation again, we don’t find a need to repent because we already have our savior in Donald Trump. Don’t be deceived, God’s patience has limits. He won’t let this go on forever. Also, prior to His return, there will be Great Tribulation for forty-two months, three- and one-half years, like there has never been before on planet Earth (Matthew 24:21) which is why this time must be cut short. That may mean that things could really start to deteriorate early next year, Passover 2025. Not nice to think about. Take this as the blessing that it is meant to be and in this time don’t become complacent; repent and be saved. Repentance is not a one-time act; it is continual. Salvation is a free gift from God for those who believe, for those who “declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead” (Romans 10:9). This is the beginning of a relationship. When you declare Yeshua, Jesus, is Lord you are calling him the master and that immediately establishes your place in the pecking order, a servant, dare I say slave. That is the relationship the rest of your days. What He says is law. Yeshua says in John 14:15, “If you love me, keep my commands.” What are these commands? The Torah, His instructions. He does still expect us to do our very best to do as he commanded; keep his law. Grace fills that gap where we accidentally or unknowingly fail to do what is required, where we sin. We are expected to turn from that sin and not continue in it. Sha’ul confirms this in Romans 6:1-2, “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?” Finally, what is sin? John defines that for us in 1 John 3:4, “Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.” Sin is Torahlessness (without Torah).
Remember, Yehovah God “is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9). Be a Berean, study the scriptures and see if what was presented is true!
